Meet Your Walk Leaders
I’m Trav, one of your walk leaders for Walk for a Bloke 2026 in Hobart, alongside my best mate Ethan. We took on the 25km walk in 2025 as a personal challenge - I’d just become a dad, and Ethan was on his own health journey - and it became something much bigger than we expected.
As a new father to Scarlett and fiancé to Alex, I’ve learned that being a good bloke is about showing up for the people who matter. That’s why I love this event - it’s more than a walk, it’s a movement to get men talking and supporting one another.
I’m Ethan, your other Hobart walk leader, alongside my best mate Trav. We took on the 25km walk in 2025 as a personal challenge - I’d just recovered from a medical procedure and started a health journey, while Trav had become a new dad - and it became something truly meaningful for both of us.
After losing a coworker early in 2025, the walk reminded me how powerful it is to connect with like-minded blokes, share stories, and support each other. As a dad of two and partner to Kate, my mental health has become a real priority - I want to be the best version of myself for my family.
So, grab your mates and join us on March 21st, 2026 at Saint Hugo’s Café Rosetta.
Let’s walk, talk, and keep the conversation going.

CAN I WALK ON MY OWN
Absolutely! If you are attending an organised location, we welcome everyone on the day. If you are walking on your own there will be an opportunity for you to make yourself known to our walk leaders or volunteers and buddy up with other solo walkers if you wish.
For our walk anywhere option, please reach out to a friend, and enjoy a day of great conversations and checking in on each other wherever your 25km walk may take you.
WHAT IF 25KM IS TOO MUCH FOR ME ON THE DAY?
All walkers have the option of ending their walk at any time they feel necessary along the course. We encourage you to join us at the end venue to continue conversations and share in achievements together. If you do decide to exit the course, please ensure you let a volunteer or event lead know.
EVENT DAY - WHAT DO I BRING
- MINIMUM 1L water bottle (we suggest using a camel pack or similar or carrying a small backpack with minimum 1L water bottle).
- Sunscreen
- Snacks
- Hat
- Comfortable walking shoes (do not wear new shoes for the first time)
HOW DO I FUNDRAISE?
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
We started Spoke to a Bloke after losing our brother and best mate to suicide. As a team, we work on the charity weekends and after hours, we are passionate about making a real impact. 100% of funds raised goes directly to running the charity, our events and projects to support blokes mental health.
For more information on the impact you are a part of, please visit our projects.
WHY IS THE WALK JUST FOR BLOKES?
Walk for a Bloke is a unique event for blokes to come together and walk 25kms to raise awareness and funds for bloke’s mental health.
It also serves as medicine, enabling blokes to be active, to connect, listen, learn and to share in the walk and build resilience through action. We recognise wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers and mates play an important role in blokes' lives. Family, friends and supporters are welcome to volunteer on the day or to meet you at the end of the walk to celebrate your achievements. To volunteer please contact cassie@spoketoabloke.org.
WHY DOES THE WALK FINISH AT HOTELS, PUBS AND CLUBS?
OUR ALCOHOL POLICY
We recognise that alcohol can be a contributing factor to mental health challenges among blokes. As such, the event does not promote or encourage the consumption of alcohol, and alcohol is not included in the price of the entry ticket.
We respect the personal choices of each participant regarding alcohol consumption. At each end venue, lunch will be available for purchase at own arrangements, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the discretion of the attendee.
Alcohol service will be managed by the venue in accordance with responsible service guidelines to ensure consumption is safe and appropriate.
WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY
Please keep an eye on pre-event communications and check back here for updates in regards to emergency procedure on event day.
