Walk for a Bloke London

What is Walk for a Bloke

Walk for a Bloke is more than just a 25km challenge. It’s a day for blokes to step up, walk side by side, and make a real difference for men’s mental health.

This is your chance to reconnect with old mates, meet new ones, and be part of something bigger - a movement that gets blokes talking, walking, and supporting one another.

Whether you walk solo, rally your mates into a team, or get your whole workplace involved, every step you take helps change the story for men’s mental health.

In memory of Steve

Tuesday 17th Mar
I don’t normally post much, but recently I sadly lost my best friend, Steven Munro, to suicide.

A few close friends and I will be taking part in Walk For A Bloke, a charity event run by Spoke To A Bloke, to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health in Steve’s memory, and for the many others affected by suicide.

A little about Steve. He was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. His warmth and easygoing nature meant people were instantly drawn to him. We met on our first day of reception at infant school and became close friends from then on. The laughter never really stopped.

Over the years we shared countless memories. Steve was best man at my wedding and I had the honour of being  best man alongside Ian, his brother at his. Wherever we went, Steve would end up chatting to complete strangers, and by the end of the night they felt like lifelong friends. He loved people, helped anyone who needed it, and always had good advice when it mattered. His cheeky grin and big smile will always be how I remember him.

Steve had been going through some difficult things that he kept mostly to himself. His loss has left a huge hole in the lives of his family and friends, and we are still coming to terms with it.

If there is anything we can take from this, it’s the importance of talking and supporting each other. None of us should feel we have to carry things alone.

So in Steve’s memory, if you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, it would mean a great deal. Together we hope to raise awareness and support people who may be struggling, continuing to help others in the way Steve always did.
