Walk for a Bloke Auckland

What is Walk for a Bloke

Walk for a Bloke is more than just a 25km challenge. It’s a day for blokes to step up, walk side by side, and make a real difference for men’s mental health.

This is your chance to reconnect with old mates, meet new ones, and be part of something bigger - a movement that gets blokes talking, walking, and supporting one another.

Whether you walk solo, rally your mates into a team, or get your whole workplace involved, every step you take helps change the story for men’s mental health.

Blistered But Blessed: Steps for Men’s Mental Health

Monday 23rd Feb

As an electrician, I’m used to hard work, long hours, and getting my hands dirty. But nothing in my day job compares to the challenge I’ve signed up for: the Walk for a Bloke – Auckland. I’m walking 25 km to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health — and yes, I fully expect my feet to protest along the way.

Men’s mental health isn’t talked about enough. Too often, blokes feel they have to tough it out, bottle it up, or keep their struggles to themselves. That silence can be dangerous. Spoke to a Bloke is all about breaking the stigma, encouraging open conversation, and making support accessible when it’s needed most.

This walk isn’t just about covering distance. It’s about connection — sharing stories, having honest conversations, and reminding each other that it’s okay to ask for help. Every step I take is a small act toward building a community where men feel seen, heard, and supported.

I’m taking part because I know the value of camaraderie and support. Whether it’s at work, on the job site, or in life, having someone to lean on can make all the difference. The aches and blisters are worth it if even one bloke finds hope or a listening ear because of what we’re doing.

If you’d like to support my walk or help fund programs that provide real help to men in need, check out my fundraising page [insert your personal fundraising link here]. Every dollar goes directly to Spoke to a Bloke, helping men get the support they deserve.

Blistered but blessed — let’s walk, let’s talk, and let’s look out for each other.
