Walk for a Bloke Adelaide

What is Walk for a Bloke

Walk for a Bloke is more than just a 25km challenge. It’s a day for blokes to step up, walk side by side, and make a real difference for men’s mental health.

This is your chance to reconnect with old mates, meet new ones, and be part of something bigger - a movement that gets blokes talking, walking, and supporting one another.

Whether you walk solo, rally your mates into a team, or get your whole workplace involved, every step you take helps change the story for men’s mental health.

This is another angle. I’m sure you can get the gist of it.

Unfortunately the space here for photos is too small to show you the full size. But it’s an octopus with tentacles wrapped around my leg from my foot to my thigh. It’s a massive job and there will be jellyfish added later too.

This is Vinko, who didn’t know I took this photo. If you look close you’ll see him smiling. That’s obviously someone who enjoys his work, or inflicting pain. Hahaha

Friday 5th Dec
Morning Everyone.
It’s 2.30am.
I’m in a great mood.

Today’s the big day.
I’m booked in to get my leg tattooed by Vinko at Uncle Winston’s Tattoo Studio in Parkside.
Most of you would have already seen some pics of his artwork at my local train station on my previous charity webpages.
Stride4stroke and One Foot Forward.
Vinko is an incredibly talented Street Artist, and he’s also an incredible Tattooist.
I feel very privileged to be able to wear a piece of his art on my body.
And I highly recommend you follow him on Instagram.
You can also find him on YouTube.

I’m back.
And it was an incredible day today.
One that I’ll never forget.

I had only given Vinko a few brief emails explaining what I wanted and what it represents to me.
And he has gone above and beyond with his creative talent.
It is of course still unfinished, and will be a work in progress.
So, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the finished product.
But I’ll post a couple of pics for you to get a glimpse of what it will be.

Thanks again for a great day today Vinko.

And to everyone here in Adelaide that wants a tattoo, but you’re unsure where to go or who to trust.
Everyone at Uncle Winston’s will guide you through the procedure.
They’re very professional and it’s a fun place to be.
And I vouch for them 100%.

I hope you’ve all had a great day too.
Cheers. :)

Thursday 4th Dec
Morning Everyone.
It’s 1.30am.

I’ve got no plans yet for today.
We’ll see?

It was a lazy day today, mainly just getting ready for my tattoo tomorrow.
I’ve shaved my left leg to save time.
And now I feel unbalanced.
Hahaha.

I hope you’ve all had a great day.
Cheers. :)

Wednesday 3rd Dec
Morning Everyone.
It’s 4am.
I slept really well, and I’ve woken up in a great mood again.
I have no doubt it’s because of yesterday’s hike with Sam.

I reckon today will be a quiet day.
I’m gonna try and get some chores done.
And I’ll go and do some laps of the oval later today.
I might even take a broom with me.

I hope you all have a great day.
Cheers. :)

This is Sam and Me at an emergency airfield at the top of a hill that’s used for bushfire water bombers. Sam’s in the process of joining the C.F.S volunteer firefighters.

Tuesday 2nd Dec
Morning Everyone.
It’s 2am.
I slept well and I’m feeling good.

I’ve got a long day ahead of me today.
My mate Sam and I are going to
Scott Creek Conservation Park in the Mount Lofty Ranges for a
15 km fast paced hike.
Some of you might remember Sam from my previous charity events.
He has a great business called
Positive Patterns, and he’s helping me prepare for Kokoda.
He might even be joining me.

And if there’s anyone else interested in hiking The Kokoda Trail with me?
Please contact me.
It’d be great to have more friends alongside me.

I’m back.
And it was a great day.
We hiked over 15kms through the rolling hills at Scott Creek.
Which has recovered from bushfires that swept through there 4 years ago.
We followed a track which meandered its way up and around very steep hills.
And around every corner at the top of every steep hill was another bloody steep hill.
Hahaha.
And I bloody loved it.
Cheers Sam. :)

I hope you’ve all had a great day too.
Cheers. :)

Monday 1st Dec
Morning Everyone.
It’s 5am.
I woke up in a cold sweat.
And it feels like I’ve slept in, and I’m running late for work again.
And it took a few minutes to remember I don’t work anymore.
Very strange feeling.

No plans yet for today.
We’ll see?

Tomorrow we’ll step it up a notch.
And we’ll be doing a 15km hike up at Scott Creek Conservation Park.

I hope you’ve all had a great day.
Cheers. :)

Sunday 30th Nov
Morning Everyone.
It’s 2am.

I reckon today will be another fairly quiet day.
I’m out hiking in a couple of days, but I’ve been trying to avoid any kind of injuries lately.
Because at the end of this week,
I’m finally getting my tattoo started.

Some of you might remember that during the One Foot Forward event in October.
I thought I fractured my leg, from pushing myself too far.
And after getting tests done.
It showed that I had torn the muscles around my leg, above my ankle.
And for a while it was looking as though I was gonna have to get the other leg tattooed instead.
We’ve been planning this tattoo for over 3 months now, and I don’t want to risk any more injuries before I get it.
We’ll see?

I hope you all have a great day.
Cheers. :)

Tuesday 25th Nov
Morning Everyone.

I’ve got a few chores to get done today.

Morning Everyone.

Blackhill, Montecute.

Thursday 20th Nov
This was taken by my mate Sam last week at the top of Blackhill, Montecute. About 700 metres high. It was a 7kms hike up a steep hill, then 7 kms back down again. I threw a small pebble into the pile of rocks behind me. Built up over many years, by many people. I heard it rattle its way down to the middle, and it probably hit a lizard on the Head. Hahaha

20/11/25

Thursday 20th Nov
G’day Everyone.
Here we go again.

This event isn’t until 21st March 2026.
But, I’m still gonna try and do blogs of my training leading up to the big day.
It’s the same 25 km walk I did at the start of the year with my mate Tony.
He also did it the year before, and he’ll be right beside me again next year.
He’s a bloody legend!!

This is  another important cause that’s close to home for me.
But those of you that supported me on the previous Stride4stroke and
One foot forward events I did during September and October already know that.
And just a reminder.
I walked over 500 kms during those 2 months.
And over 483,000 steps.

I’m not gonna be asking any of you to donate again.
But if you do want to jump on board.
Of course, it will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers. :)

This is another way of me being able to invite you into my world for a while, but for 4 months this time.
And I’ll try and post some better photos this time.
I know there’s a bunch of you that enjoy logging in to see what mischief I’m getting myself into.

We’ll have to wait and see.
Hahaha.

Cheers. :)
