What is Walk for a Bloke
Previously known as Nicks Walk, Walk for a Bloke is a unique event for blokes to come together and walk 25kms to raise awareness and funds for bloke’s mental health.
Walk for a Bloke is more than just a fundraiser – it can act as a form of medicine. By encouraging physical activity, creating opportunities for mateship, and providing a safe space for men to share, listen, and learn, we help build resilience and strengthen mental well-being through action.

Why am I doing this
Wednesday 5th FebWhy Am I Doing This?
In the past, I’ve done my fair share of hiking whether it was helping my cousin train for his Everest quest or more recently taking on a hike to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. But this time, I wanted to do something more.
Yes, I love walking. I love the challenge, the fresh air, and the sense of achievement. It helps my mental health, and it’s something I truly enjoy. But this isn’t just about me. This isn’t just another personal challenge.
Some of my closest friends and family know the struggles I’ve faced both the highs and the lows. I’ve had moments where I felt completely lost, and I’ve had times where I found the strength to push forward. Over the last few years, with the right help and support, I’ve learned how to take care of my mental health. I’ve learned how to stop myself from going down a path of self destruction. But I also know that not everyone is that lucky. Not everyone finds the help they need in time.
That’s why I’m doing this.
Not to jump on a bandwagon. Not just to raise awareness for men’s mental health. But to give back. To do something that might make a difference to someone who is struggling. If sharing my journey helps even one person feel less alone, if it starts a conversation, if it encourages someone to reach out for help, then it’s worth it.
So as I take on this challenge, I’m doing it for those who might be in a worse place than I was. I’m doing it for those who need to know that they’re not alone. And if anyone reading this is struggling, I want you to know, I’ve been there. I get it. And I’m always here to talk.
This isn’t just a hike. This is something bigger.
