2024 Harbord FC Gala Day

Help support Paul with their Challenge for a Bloke

An awesome community Gala Day

2023 had 8 teams participate in the Spoke to a Bloke Gala Day.  Our challenge was to have over 30 teams involved and we ended up with 47 teams across Harbord, Mosman, Narrabeen, Curl Curl and Wakehurst.
We had close to 400 players from U7 to O45's and nearly 1200 people attending the day.
For the seniors the challenge involved a '3 minute Silence' in each game.  This was awesome and symbolised the importance of speaking in sport and the day emphasised how this related to life.
Each group was introduced by Harbord FC President Tom England and x-Manly Sea Eagles legend Donny Singe

A huge thanky ou to Harbord FC, and in particular Paul, Suzy and Tom for helping allow the day to occur.

MWFA and Cromer Football for supplying an amazing facility and referees for the seniors.

Thanks to Curl Curl, Mosman, Narrabeen. and Wakehurst clubs who participated in junior games with Harbord.

To the many volunteers that gave up their Saturday to help - whether it was on the bbq, selling raffle ticket, setting up, cleaning up or generally supporting the day.

Thanks to Donny Singe for firing up all the players and parents and providing some great insights into being mentally prepared and what helps conditioning.

In addition, we had some generous donations from Woolworths Gift Card and Universal Candy to help fuel the players and supporters.

A huge thanks to the generous companies that provided raffle tickets including:  Vamos Strength Training, Harbord Kikoff, Verve Photography, Barrel One, Sammy Piquant and Sydney FC .

And finally, thanks to all the kids, parents and supporters that made the day so great.

Register for Walk for a Bloke

Sunday 25th Feb
In addition to the Gala Day, Spoke to a Bloke are running its annual 25km Walk for a Bloke event on March 23rd in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne, Broome and London.

Please get the blokes in your life to register and help raise critical awareness and funds related to mental health for men.

Gala Day 2024

Sunday 25th Feb
Awesome day with 47 teams across 5 clubs. 

First up were U8/9/10's from 9-12.
Then we had U7's and 11-16's from 1-4pm.
The seniors then turned up with teams from U16/1's, 2023 U21's, 2024 U21's, 4xO35's and an O45's team.

We are a charity focused on supporting blokes mental health. We do this through running a series of community based events, including Walk for a Bloke, Challenge for a Bloke and Headband for a Bloke. 

Funds raised via these events are being used to fund two core Spoke to a Bloke Projects;

M.I.N.D.S – The MEN IN NEED OF DIGITAL SUPPORT project is an initiative to bring together a wide range of mental health experts, knowledgeable individuals and everyday blokes to create 24/7 help content aimed at supporting adult and younger men.

121 – The 121 project will deliver direct professional help for blokes that need financial assistance and reach those that need it most. 

In addition to our projects, our events also serve as medicine.  We enable blokes to be active, to connect, to share, to listen, to learn and to share in events to help build resilience through action.
