What is Walk for a Bloke
Previously known as Nicks Walk, Walk for a Bloke is a unique event for blokes to come together and walk 25kms to raise awareness and funds for bloke’s mental health.
Walk for a Bloke is more than just a fundraiser – it can act as a form of medicine. By encouraging physical activity, creating opportunities for mateship, and providing a safe space for men to share, listen, and learn, we help build resilience and strengthen mental well-being through action.

Why am I doing this?
Saturday 8th MarThere are 3 main reasons why I am doing this.
1. Personal reasons - I and many other men have been affected by mental health. I myself have suffered issues with depression and anxiety, and I have had to see mental health professionals to help with this. This walk supports men's mental health by meeting other like minded men who I can have conversations with about their issues and advocate the issue for a great cause.
2. Advocacy - As I previously stated, mental health is an ongoing and ever present issue in modern society particularly for men. Nearly half of Australian men (43%) have experienced some form of a mental health issues and suicide is the leading cause of death for young Australians. These statistics could even be higher as men are stigmatized when it comes to opening up about our mental health issues. I would like to use the walk for a bloke event as an opportunity to advocate for better mental health and better mental health services provided by the government.
3. Reduce the stigma - Men are stigmatized when it comes to mental health issues. These are due to a variety of reasons such as cultural and social. The event I am participating in, helps to encourage open conversations, normalising expressions of emotion and empathy, and open discussions about being male role models.
Thanks to anyone who donates
I am looking forward to the event!
